Mare Island Art Studios is a working art studios, galleries, and community cultural space located in a historic Navy warehouse on Mare Island in Vallejo, California. When you visit, you’ll encounter art in progress, rotating exhibitions, community events, and a unique waterfront setting shaped by history and creativity.

Each visit is a little different — shaped by the artists working here and the events unfolding around you.

Gallery Hours

 

  • Typically Sundays from 12–4pm

  • During exhibition runs and special events

  • By appointment when available

Seasonal Note

 

  • We are closed during the month of January

  • Programming resumes in February with exhibitions and special events

  • Free on-site parking is available

  • Easy access from Highway 37 and downtown Vallejo

  • Bike-friendly routes throughout Mare Island

Mare Island is also served by the Vallejo Ferry (San Francisco ↔ Vallejo), followed by a short drive or bike ride.

When you visit Mare Island Art Studios, you may experience:

Some days are quiet and reflective. Other days are lively and full of activity. Both are part of the experience.
