Warm greetings from Artiszen Vallejo and Mare Island Art Studios!
We’re still glowing from the overwhelming success of the inaugural Art of Community Exhibit @ MIAS in 2024. Thanks to the incredible support of our vibrant community, the month-long celebration pulsed with creativity, connection, and pure artistic magic. More than 30 artists filled our gallery with breathtaking work, drawing in hundreds of visitors who brought life and energy to the space.
Highlights included the spirited Timeless Threads Fashion Show, our bustling Saturday activations with live music, a collaborative community art project, and the first-ever Art of Community Awards, honoring local visionaries who help Vallejo thrive through art.
This year, we’re going even bigger.
Get ready for the 2nd Annual Art of Community Exhibit & Festival @ MIAS, happening August 9–31, 2025, in continued collaboration with Mare Island Art Studios. Here’s a glimpse of what’s ahead:
August 9: Opening Artist’s Reception – spotlighting beloved local artists and fresh new voices
August 16: 2nd Annual Art of Community Awards Ceremony – celebrating impact-makers in Vallejo’s creative ecosystem
August 23: The return of the Art of Community Fashion Show, our most buzzed-about event
August 24: Ekphrastic Poetry Night – where spoken word meets visual wonder
Plus, don’t miss the debut of a brand-new interactive sculpture by MIAS artist JeanCherie, inspired by the winged wildlife of Mare Island. Designed as a joyful photo moment and potential permanent fixture, it captures the unity, imagination, and heart that define Art of Community.
